The Koch Industries global headquarters sits on a 200-acre campus in Wichita, Kansas, the nation’s heartland. More than 3,000 people work there.

From environmental initiatives, to community involvement and campus innovation, see these interesting facts and tidbits about life inside and out of the Koch HQ.


Stewardship at HQ

There are nearly 100 acres of manicured grounds and robust recycling programs on the Koch campus, which has earned Silver Certification from the Wildlife Habitat Council. The certification recognizes Koch’s long-term commitment to managing quality habitat for wildlife, conservation education and community outreach initiatives.

By the numbers:

  • 85,000 lbs of paper recycled in 2021
  • 81,000 lbs of cardboard recycled annually
  • 7,000 tulip bulbs planted each year
  • 2,500 trees on campus
  • 20 tons of yard and kitchen waste composted each year
  • 4 acres of designated pollinator plots planted with native flowers and grasses
  • 1 rafter of wild turkeys


Built to inspire

The buildings on campus, including the 8-story tall Koch Tower, are designed to be a place for employees to collaborate and inspire one another as they seek to realize their full potential and create value.

By the numbers:

  • 1.3 million square feet of office space
  • ~1,380 miles of electrical wiring, cabling, optic fiber and patch cords
  • 477 meeting and collaboration spaces
  • 5 miles of sidewalks


Hungry for more

The campus also includes two full-service cafes and a coffeehouse that provide a place for employees to fuel up and recharge.

By the numbers:

  • 1,126 lunch meals are served on average every day
  • 13,692 lbs of coffee beans were used in 2021
  • 514,500 coffee cups made by Georgia-Pacific were used in 2021
